A Savage Shift: Look in the Mirror

A Savage Shift: Look in the Mirror

Talk Time Is Over. Look in the Mirror.
We’re getting close now.
That moment where you realize talk time is over.

We’ve had a good summer.
We’ve sent some good emails.
We’ve had some good conversations about training, hard work, and preparation.

But I’m worried I haven’t prepared you for what’s really coming.
Because tryouts are almost here.

And I can’t sugarcoat this for you anymore.

When you step on the ice this year, nobody cares about what you say you want.
The only thing that matters is what you’ve done when nobody was watching.

Did you work harder than the player sitting across from you?
Did you outwork the player staring back at you in the mirror?
Because that’s the mentality you need if you want to make it.

This game isn’t for the soft.
There aren’t participation trophies coming your way.
What’s coming is the pain, the crunching, the grinding, the sweat, the blood.
The season is almost here. You can feel it, can’t you?

So here’s the question:
What are you going to do about this year?

Are you going to let another season pass you by?
Or is this the moment you decide to step up…
and finally make something happen?

I remember the moment I decided.
I was chasing the NHL, but deep down, I knew I hadn’t given it everything I had.
I looked in the mirror one night, and I saw a scared little boy pretending he was working hard.
And it broke me.

Years later, when I finally made the show, I understood what separated the players who make it from the ones who fade away:
they found something inside themselves that couldn’t be coached, couldn’t be handed out, couldn’t be bought.

I can’t give you that.
Nobody can.

You’ve got to find it for yourself.
And the first place to start is the mirror.

PUCKAROUND AND FIND OUT:

If you gotta train off the ice today, why wouldn't you want to use a state of the art puck that feels exactly like a real puck while you dangle on the concrete?! Make it happen. Train like it matters.

GRAB A 2-PACK OF PUCKAROUNDS, DRIVEWAY WARRIOR

Don’t wait for the ice.
Create it.
No shortcuts. No excuses. Just reps.
