Most players never cross the line. The pros do. The posers don’t.
I remember the exact moment it hit me.
It wasn’t during a game.
It wasn’t after a goal.
It was standing in the tunnel — watching NHL players hit the ice while I was still in the minors.
And I knew…
I thought I had what it takes.
But I didn’t — not yet.
I had the fire.
I had the dream.
But I hadn’t made the shift.
I hadn’t yet decided that I would pay whatever price it took.
No more half-in. No more distractions.
Just full-on, all-out, no-plan-B pursuit.
And when that moment finally came?
That shift?
It changed everything.
Because most players never cross that threshold.
They flirt with the dream but never marry it.
So here’s my challenge to you today:
Have you made the shift?
Have you crossed the line in your mind and said —
“I will become the kind of player who cannot be ignored”?
It starts in your driveway.
It starts on a random Wednesday.
It starts today.
The clock is ticking.
The ice is waiting.
The pavement is calling.
The dream is forming.
You’ve got one shot.
Take it.
