The work nobody sees is what separates players
Wraparound Family,
When you step onto the ice for practice or a game, something special happens.
For that hour or two, the noise of the world fades away. The worries disappear. The stress lifts. Hockey becomes a place of peace. It is our natural state.
And how could it not be?
The speed.
The finesse.
The athletic artistry.
There is nothing else like this game in the world.
So here is your challenge as you head into the weekend.
Do the work before and after you step on the ice.
Before your next practice or game, commit to doing something extra. Something most players are not doing. When you do that, you send a message to your mind and body.
I prepared better.
Maybe the coach notices. Maybe they do not. That part does not matter. You notice. And something shifts when you know you went the extra mile.
A great place to start is a simple dynamic warmup. A short jog. Jumping jacks. Mobility work. A few minutes to wake your body up before the skate. If you need ideas, look up a hockey dynamic warmup and try it.
No one is coming to do this for you.
Most people are sleepwalking through life. They show up unprepared. They drift. But not you. You are awake now. And every time you choose to do the extra work, you move a little closer to your goals.
This journey is yours.
Think about all the players you have played with over the years. Some stayed close. Most faded into memory. But you are still here. Because this is your quest.
Before you skate, get a few stickhandling reps in. Visualize yourself making the right play. See it in your mind. Feel what it will be like when the moment comes.
And if you are serious about off ice reps, the Puckaround exists for one reason. To make off ice training feel real. It is the number one voted off ice training puck of 2025 because it actually feels like an on ice puck.
That was the mission. Build something that helps players prepare when nobody is watching.
Now after the skate, finish the job.
Extra pushups. Core work. Plyometrics. Stretch. Foam roll. Recover. Learn the lesson from the session. Win or lose, there is always something to take with you.
Then get good sleep.
Wake up the next day and do it again.
That is the slow grind. That is how players climb the hockey ladder.
We build off ice training tools to support you on that journey.
Now take control of your preparation. Take ownership of your path.
And go earn it this weekend.
