We were honored to present Sticks For Troops with a check of $768 on May 1st, 2016 for our April fundraiser! We would like to thank all the men and women who serve their country!
Keeping in line with our mission to make the greatest game on earth more accessible, we were proud team up this past August with with Sticks For Troops – an organization that provides deployed servicemen and women around the world with hockey equipment.
For the month of April, Hockey WrapAround donated $2 to Sticks For Troops for every WrapAround purchased throughout hockeywraparound.us
In addition, Hockey WrapAround sent several WrapAround One’s to the organization to send out into the field.
About Sticks For Troops:
The mission of the Sticks for Troops program is to provide hockey equipment to deployed service members worldwide. (Multiple Sites in Afghanistan as well as Qatar, Kuwait, and Egypt) The goal is not only to provide equipment but to also share the valuable lessons learned through teamwork, dedication and sportsmanship
The organization has received support from several NHL players including T.J. Oshie (Washington Capitals) and Nathan Gerbe (Carolina Hurricanes) and has received donations from the Chicago Blackhawks and other teams from around North America.
SFT is a ‘Not for Profit’ organization created by USAF Staff Sergeant John Lindner in 2012. All monetary donations to SFT are used to ship donated equipment and sticks to military locations all over the globe.
They have sent over $65,000 in sticks and equipment to sites in Afghanistan, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt and personnel deployed at sea. They rely heavily on support from our followers on social media including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to help spread the message of their mission.
